About the Artist

Haige Zheng is a Chinese painter and calligrapher based in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

Zheng’s interest in painting started in childhood through the influence of his father, an avid collector of Chinese art and a respected member of the artist community in China during the late 1900s. Having been exposed to art from a young page, Zheng recounts stories of eavesdropping on his father’s scholarly discussions with artists including Xie Zhiliu.

His work combines the traditional Chinese art of his childhood with the Western movements that he studied in adulthood. Citing Monet, Van Gogh and De Kooning as inspirations, his style is distinctly Abstract Impressionist in nature. The mediums of his work cover a wide range, from oil, acrylic and pastel on canvas to Chinese ink brush.

Zheng’s work has been exhibited at international art fairs, including the Affordable Art Fair in London and Washington Square Art fair in New York. His paintings are also collected by private collectors from around the world.
